In 1997 I invented Line Item Vito, then called "Line Eye-Tem Vito." These were non-animated, static, cartoons
that appeared briefly on the now defunct Weisenheimer.com website. I guess you could say Vito lost that
election.
Turn the clock ahead four years to 2001. I started using ClarisWorks on my Macintosh to hand-animate, frame by
frame, a handful of 1997 cartoons. Way too painful to create. But it was enough to convince me that Vito should
be animated and that he should live in an ad-banner-sized world. Still, Vito had some restructuring to do.
Fast forward to now... the age of 'blogs,
Halo movies
(Google it, if you don't know what that is), and, well,
Google. I also discovered Macromedia's Flash, which continues to blow me away. So now Vito
is written in Flash, and available here at LineItemVito.com — your primary
source for minimalist talking-head quasi-political humor.
