My original oldest attempts at Line Item Vito.
1997
In 1997 I invented Line Item Vito, then called “Line Eye-Tem Vito.” These were non-animated, static, cartoons that appeared briefly on the now defunct Weisenheimer.com website. I guess you could say Vito lost that election.
2001
Turn the clock ahead four years to 2001. I started using ClarisWorks on my Macintosh to hand-animate, frame by frame, a handful of 1997 cartoons. Way too painful to create. But it was enough to convince me that Vito should be animated and that he should live in an ad-banner-sized world. Still, Vito had some restructuring to do.

2004 – 2010
Fast forward to 2004… the age of ‘blogs, Halo movies like Red vs. Blue, and Macromedia’s Flash. That is, before Adobe bought Macromedia and made Flash too expensive and before Steve Jobs killed Flash because he didn’t like it. I then animated Vito in Flash, and available here at LineItemVito.com — your primary source for minimalist talking-head quasi-political humor.
today
Fast forward to today… Flash is gone, Steve Jobs is gone, Halo movies aren’t made by fans but by corporations. These are what’s left of my earliest effort. If I find a suitable replacement for Flash then I may write more some day.
